The city of Plano was originally settled in the 1840’s, but eventually it became the trading center of the farming community of Southwest Collin County after the Houston and Central railroad opened in 1873. Today, downtown Plano remains mostly unchanged as many of the original buildings have been restored over the years. The only big change is that downtown originally hosted the local businesses, but is now occupied mainly by retail shops and restaurants. With neighborhoods like Willow Bend, Shoal Creek, Kings Ridge and so many more, this is a beautiful town to call home. Local homeowner’s are currently enjoying a seller’s market meaning that more people are looking to buy homes than there are even available. Crosstown Engineering is always happy to serve the citizens of Plano with our services that range from engineering reports, foundation evaluations, and home inspections services.
