Kyle, Texas

Established in 1880 by David E. Moore and Fergus Kyle, this became one of the cities located on the International-Great Northern Railroad. Most notably, this city was the home of Pulitzer-Prize winner Katherine Anne Porter, who wrote famous short stories such as “Noon Wine.” Every Labor Day weekend since 2017, the city hosts The Kyle Pie in the Sky Hot Air Balloon Festival attracting thousands of visitors from Texas and out-of-state. The balloons take off at sunrise on Saturday and Sunday morning, and tethered balloons glow against the evening sky at Lake Kyle. The event also features a pie eating contest, pie baking contest, and a Pie Café. Market vendors will also come to display and sell their artisan crafts, unique products and food, and libations. In addition, live music performances run throughout the weekend, so fun is guaranteed for the whole family. Trust Crosstown Engineering to provide you with the most honest and expert engineering reports, foundation evaluations, and home inspections.
